Girls gone wild

I am SOOOOOO excited to be heading off in the morning for a long weekend Hens party in the Margaret River region. 13 girls staying in a couple of lush looking houses near the beach, cocktails, wine tours, murder mystery evening, and general bad girl behaviour.

It is all about the Hen of course, Colleen. I hope we show her a truly magic time. If there are no photos posted when I return, then you'll know it was a successful naughty weekend, and a case of 'what goes on tour, stays on tour' ;-)

Oh Sugar Sugar...

I haven't been able to get the Archies' classic 'Sugar Sugar' (1969) out of my head since Sunday. Why? Well I went for a wander down to the city to check out the new shopping complex thats recently opened up in Perth. My new home town seems to be receiving a much needed rev up and facelift at present, its very exciting! Anyway, back to the Sugar…

Obviously as part of the opening festivities, the centre had a woman doing 'Sugar art' on the floor. I've not seen anything like it before. I have seen loads and loads of chalk art on the pavement and people covered in sliver paint standing really still, but this? Nope… this was a new one, and it was really quite cool, in a charlie and the chocolate factory/alice in wonderland dreamy sort of way.

I only had my iPhone on me so I apologise that the pictures aren't too hot…

And here's the song for you too to get stuck in your head :)

This makes me smile, lots...

...It also makes me say 'wow', and 'gosh' and other such interjections.

The Boy and I have watched this about three times in the past day or so, the last was this morning as we knew the tiny people (boys 9&11) would be impressed, which they were.

Fabric animal dreaming

It sounds like a cliche I know, but I actually, literally, dreamt up a gift card design for childrens' gift cards the other night. I dreamt that I was making all sorts of animals out of circles of scrap fabric… So, the next day, I thought I should at least give them a go and see what happens.

After a few more misses than hits, I came up with a few that I was not completely disappointed with.

There are a couple more creatures still pulling themselves together in my studio but i the meantime I have put these three on sale in my shop.

Do I have a Rabbit Heart?

A really long time ago my mum tagged me to post a picture that describes my heart like she had done herself, so beautifully, right here. Well… I did not forget, nor did I ignore it, I just cannot decide upon or have not found the right pic. However, in the meantime, I will share this video of a new favourite song of mine and the Boys, it makes my heart sing, so I figure thats better than nothing for now…

Ikea to the rescue…. again

Storage in the new place is a tad limited, which, whilst I have discovered can have its plus side (less crap hoarded), it has been tricky finding homes for things hat once lived in our HUGE en suite at the previous place (honestly, how many bottles of fragrance can one man need?!)
So I tootled off to Ikea and found the perfect solution, this bathroom shelf. It fits snuggly in the only possible spot we could have put anything and holds those few bits that I dont mind having out on show perfectly. There is even a spot at the very bottom for the Boys' bathroom reading material (which generally consists of all those "silly girly fashion and gossip mags that I spend all our money on" ...and that he secretly loves to read :)

I shall now get back to explaining to the Boy why he is still required to put his razors, foot cream, deodorant, toenail clippers etc in the cupboards and NOT on the new shelf…

I wish...

... that I could have a wall full of these beautiful photographs, (or a garden full of such beautiful blooms, however i fear the photos would have a better chance of survival!).
Aren't they simply dreamy?
I stumbled upon the gorgeous work of Kari Herer on Etsy and just wanted to share the beauty. Check out all of her gorgeous photos for sale here.

I have had to resist temptation and settle for marking her shop as a favourite for now, but I do hope to collect a print or few in the near future!

All images by Kari Herer were found here
